Well today was the day for all of us Salzburgers on our escapade to Salzburg Austria. To begin it all off, I was suppose to wake up at 4:00 AM and head out at 4:30, but my dumb self woke up at 4:30 only by my mother yelling at me that I wasn’t up yet…oops my bad. Then I just got a quick bite and we took off to Spokane International. (Which I think it shouldn’t be an international airport, because they only international flight is to Canada. Oh the good ole Canadians). After getting out of the car with my 2, yes 2 50 lbs bags of stuff to the check-in counter thinking I had to pay $50 actually had to only pay a nice $50 where I heard that most other people who had 2 bags had to pay $50. Spokane Int FTW!!!
I couldn’t believe all the people who were on my flight for a 6:20 flight to Denver. I was like “shit who in the world would want to get up this early to go on a flight…oh I would” The flight was a nice solid 1 hr 45 min flight with nothing but a drink from the stewardess. Luckily had my good ole iPod and got through it with a breeze. Once I got to Denver I got a little lost cause I had no clue what the Dulles airport ticker was so I just headed down the B concourse looking for it, at last I did only because I saw UPers when I got over there. Jordan, Tim and Katelynn. It was good to see people from school again because it was so boring being home in Spokane, Washington. Anyways I was seating by some random American people heading to DC and I was behind Katelynn. Oh before getting on the plane some random girl didn’t know what plane she was going on, because we were using the gate right next to it and she had to ask the ticket checker before getting on to see if it was to the Dulles. We couldn’t stop but to laugh. I felt bad for her, but it was pretty sad to say so myself. So when I finally sat in my seat the plane was freaking huge, not as big as my Quantas flight to Australia, but pretty darn close. Anyways these random people from I think Southern Europe, Middle East, I’m gonna say Turkey came on and seats were scattered so Katelynn being the nice person moved to sit by me…haha. So I told her about all the movies I had and she was baffled about the selection I had, but we decided on watching Clash of the Titans, which was a pretty good movie. Thank you RJ for letting me take it from your computer. The movie pretty much ate my battery but it was way worth it because it got me threw the time. After we landed in DC it was like a city in an airport. We had to walk so freaking far to get to Gate B to find our flight/group. Once we found our gate it was great to see everyone again who’s gonna be going on this trip. Then we chilled for 2 hours before our long flight, 9 hours on one plane sucked, but it seemed like 15 hours and it was never going to end. I ended up moving 2 times thanks to a few girls…So I ended up next to this quiet Russian guy which was freaking me out and thought he would talk sometime, but no he never did. I hardly got any sleep on this flight, it seemed to me I did but I got maybe 2 hours total sleep. Sucked big time.
We finally arrived in Vienna and went through customs, blah blah blah…got on our plane and after an hour later bam Salzburg! Wow this city is legit. Seems small, but it’s huge. Pretty sweet being able to use German and French in a conversation for once. Yes I use French when I don’t know it in German. I could use English but I want to challenge myself. Kebabs looks like the food of choice for a lot of people here with a glass of beer. After dinner tonight probably gonna go find a bar and try some local stuff off.
